Beijing's ceremonies to mark PRC founding's 77th anniversary

Beijing's Tiananmen Square also held a national flag-raising ceremony to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

At around 6 in the morning, the national flag was raised in Tiananmen Square.

Crowds waved national flags to welcome the first rays of morning light.

Some began gathering at the square on Wednesday evening, with some bringing folding chairs and blankets to wait overnight for the ceremony.

Light shows were held across multiple districts in Beijing during the National holiday, with national floral displays showcasing themes including the country's high-quality development were set up at Tiananmen Square and Chang'an Avenue.
