CE urges media to tell good stories of Hong Kong at National Day event

Speaking at a media event celebrating the upcoming National Day, Chief Executive John Lee said the media have a role to play in the development of society by telling good stories of Hong Kong.

He stressed local media must preserve truth while serving as both guides for society as well as messengers of the community.

The CE urged those in the news sector to maintain their professionalism and report in a fair and balanced banner, and stay alert to threats that could hinder societal stability.

Lee added besides telling good stories of the city, Hong Kong's media must also do the same for the nation.
