The Hong Kong government and multiple central government bodies in Hong Kong also organised flag-raising ceremonies today.
The official National Day flag-raising ceremony was held at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai at 8 in the morning.
Chief Executive John Lee and his wife inspected the attending youth uniform groups upon arrival.
Also in attendance were Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Leung Chun-ying, Director of Beijing's Liaison Office in Hong Kong Zhou Ji, former Chief Executives Donald Tsang and Carrie Lam.
A Government Flying Service helicopter and a Fire Services Department fireboat saluted from the air and sea.
The Liaison Office also held a flag-raising ceremony in front of its office building, led by Director Zhou Ji.
The ceremony held by the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the SAR was attended by Commissioner Cui Jianchun.
Also having held the ceremony was the Office for Safeguarding National Security.
The Chinese People's Liberation Army Garrison in the SAR staged flag-raising ceremonies at various barracks.
