Taxi slams into truck on North Lantau Highway, passenger thrown from car dead

A fatal traffic accident occurred this morning on North Lantau Highway.

A New Territories taxi collided with an engineering truck, leaving one dead and two others injured.

The deceased was a 28-year-old male passenger.

He was thrown from the cab when the crash happened shortly before 10 a.m.

The taxi was travelling towards the airport when it reportedly struck an arrow board truck near the roadside.

The impact ejected the male passenger from the taxi, who allegedly did not wear a seatbelt.

He was pronounced dead after being rushed to North Lantau Hospital.

Police are investigating the cause of the collision.
