A Hong Kong court sentences a minibus driver to community service of 200 hours after his vehicle hit a pedestrain that led to her death.

The sentencing is held at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Court.

On September 21 of last year, the 66-year-old driver was travelling on Tsui Ping Road, Kwun Tong before hitting a 83-year-old female passerby. The woman passed away in hospital seven days later. The driver was initially charged with dangerous driving causing death, but the offence later changed to careless driving.

The magistrates' court judge sentences the driver to community service of 200 hours and a six-month car licence suspension after considering the driver's age and his clean criminal background record.
