Mercury drops to 18.4 degrees in Hong Kong, lowest so far this autumn

The city recorded a minimum temperature of 18.4 degrees celsius this morning, the lowest since the start of autumn this year.

Residents experienced a chilly morning today, with many of them putting on extra layers.

Under the influence of a strong northeast monsoon and rain bands, temperatures in the afternoon were generally 3 to 4 degrees lower than yesterday.

However, the heat is set to come back over the weekend with the temperatures reaching a high of 30 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.
