The Very Hot Weather Warning remains in effect, with temperatures reaching 34 degrees Celsius in urban areas and the New Territories logging two to three degrees higher.
The Hong Kong Observatory says a southwesterly airstream will affect the Guangdong coast over the next two days. The weather in the area remains extremely hot with occasional showers.
Over the weekend, there will be brief periods of sunshine and showers.
Due to high-altitude disturbances, the weather in South China on Friday and Saturday was unstable, with more showers.
