Chief of Staff Susie Wiles resigns
following a major shakeup in the midterm elections
that saw the Republican party lose control of both the House and Senate.
US President Donald Trump says he will be replacing
Wiles with deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller.
Trump dodged questions about comments last month where
he said there was "zero chance" he would replace Wiles,
instead touting Miller as a "great manager."
Wiles, the first woman to serve as White Wouse chief of staff,
was credited with bringing discipline to Trump's often chaotic
operation.
She helped steer what was widely viewed as the most organised
of his three presidential campaigns and became the longest-serving
chief of staff of Trump's two administrations.
Miller has been a central architect of Trump's hard-line immigration policies.
He is one of Trump's closest and longest-serving advisers,
joining during his long-shot 2016 presidential campaign as
a speechwriter.
