Donald Trump says there is an energy ceasefire because he said so

US President Donald Trump insists there is an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, because he said so.

“Well they agreed. You know why? Because I said, you agree. That's why,” said Trump. “They agreed because I said they agreed, and that things has to get settled. The war is a disaster. Did you see the numbers that just came out this month? 32,000 mostly soldiers killed. Young people. 32,000 killed. That was has to be over with.”

But attacks against civilians have certainly not subsided.

One woman died and at least five others injured after a Russian drone hit a 25-story residential building in Kyiv Monday night.

Earlier in the day, falling debris from Russian attacks sparked a fire in another residential building nearby and at least two were injured in daytime strikes.

Meanwhile, Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius said the US-Russian diesel deal is a "shameful, disgraceful act".

The Baltic nation's leader said Europe should do its own work and not just count on the US.
