Russia's human rights ombudsperson confirms that a joint Russian-Ukrainian humanitarian operation took place in Oleshky without any violations of the ceasefire and reports plans for monthly humanitarian aid missions from both countries.
Russia's human rights ombudsperson Yana Lantratova stated Russia and Ukraine planned on monthly humanitarian aid missions to the town of Oleshky in Ukraine's Kherson region after the temporary truce allowed the delivery of aid to its 2000 residents and their evacuation.
Preparations involved direct coordination between Russian and Ukrainian officials with mediation provided by US First Lady Melania Trump.
Lantratova also addressed allegations of military hardware in the area, clarifying vehicles were used strictly for "demining" operations to ensure safe transport. However, it is unclear if localised ceasefires can contribute to the cool down of the wider conflict.
