Temperatures over 33 degrees as Very Hot Weather Warning is in force

The Very Hot Weather Warning is now in force. Locally, temperatures over many places rose to about 33 degrees around noon.

The Observatory says an anticyclone aloft is bringing generally fine and very hot weather to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea.

Besides, at noon, Tropical Storm Jangmi was centred about 1720 kilometres south-southeast of Okinawa. It is forecast to move north-northwest at about 18 kilometres per hour across the western North Pacific to the east of the Philippines and intensify gradually.

Under the influence of prolonged heat, members of the public should stay on the alert to prevent heat stroke or other discomforts related to very hot weather and pay due attention to health conditions.

If symptoms such as dizziness, headache, nausea, shortness of breath or confusion develop, take rest and seek help immediately, and seek medical advice as soon as possible.
