Thailand's voter go to polls Sunday

Thailand's election workers were making final preparations ahead of Sunday's election.

At one district office in Bangkok, election officials checked ballot papers and boxes in an outdoor parking area.

Officials said that after inspection, the boxes will go out to 114 polling stations in Huai Khwang district, which has 70,240 eligible voters.

There will be 400 lawmakers directly elected based on constituencies, while 100 others will be chosen from "party list" nominees, who gain seats according to each party's proportional share of the vote.

Together they will constitute the 500 members of the House of Representatives, who selects the prime minister.

Each registered voter will cast three ballots: one for an individual MP, one for their favoured party and one asking voters whether Thailand should replace its 2017 military-drafted constitution.
