The leaders of a pro-Russia group in France behind a poster campaign declaring "Russia is not my enemy" have been taken into custody.

French prosecutors say they may have been gathering intelligence for a foreign power.

The organisation SOS Donbass, describing itself as a humanitarian group, confirmed the arrest of its founder, Anna Novikova, in a Telegram post. Its president, Vincent Perfetti, is also facing charges

French President Emmanuel Macron warned about Russian destabilisation efforts in France, a key backer of Ukraine.

In videos posted by SOS Donbass, Novikova and Perfetti promoted posters showing a handshake in Russian colours and the slogan "Russia is not my enemy."
