The Observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 26.9 degrees Celsius on Sunday afternoon -- the highest on record for the 28th day of the 12th lunar month. The weather was fine in the city during the day.
Some passersby dressed in short-sleeved or thin layers of clothing. The Observatory says the weather will remain warm on Monday, with the highest temperature being around 27 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories.
