During the Lunar New Year, the Macao government is set to host a slew of Chinese New Year celebratory activities. They are expected to draw about 1.5 million visitors to the enclave.

The events include float parades, drone and fireworks displays and the Golden Dragon community tour, with an overall budget of 36.8 million dollars -- rising more 5 percent year-on-year.

Among them, the float parade will be held on the third day of the Lunar New Year and the twelfth day of the first lunar month.

They will each feature 17 floats and about 1,300 performers from Macao, the mainland, Portugal and South Korea.

This year's fireworks display will be staged over three days, with a total of 3,888 drones added for the first time. Each show will last 15 minutes.
