Heartwarming infrared camera footage of a giant panda mother and her cub in the wild, captured in the Dayi area of the Giant Panda National Park in southwest China's Sichuan Province, has offered rare insight into the bears' natural parenting behaviors. A video clip taken on Sunday shows the panda mother and her cub trekking through snow, their waddling steps and swinging tails creating a heartwarming scene. On Saturday evening, an infrared camera also captured a warm moment of the mother panda and her cub. In the footage, the pair instinctively turned their heads to gaze in the same direction. In another clip pulled from the infrared cameras on Thursday, the panda mother is seen gently leading her cub through the forest. According to reserve staff, the three infrared cameras that captured these images were positioned about two kilometers apart. Considering the strong territorial behaviors of giant pandas, they initially determined that these infrared camera videos depict the same mother panda and her cub.
