A 13-year-old Chinese girl will remain in custody in Australia in connection with the murder of a 14 year-old girl in New South Wales.
A children's court heard the alleged attacker and the victim, also a Chinese national, were part of a study tour enrolled for short-term study.
The magistrate said the 13-year-old's mental health conditions may have led to her being psychotic.
On Monday night, the owner of the house where the girls were boarding heard arguments and eventually found the victim with a stab wound.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead.
Local police found a kitchen knife in the room where the two girls were staying.
