Police have received more than 200 concert ticket-related fraud cases since mid-July.

They include nearly 30 fraud cases involving fake tickets for K-pop star G-Dragon's upcoming concert at AsiaWorld-Expo, with losses topping 610,000 dollars.

In one case, a victim was swindled out of over 180,000 dollars after trying to buy tickets through Facebook.

She initially transferred 8,800 dollars for two tickets but the fraudster repeatedly asked for additional "deposit fees" to secure the seats.

Police have reminded the public to check the backgrounds, phone numbers and the profile of the sellers as well as other buyers' reviews before making a purchase.
