Wang Yi meets his Vietnamese, Russian counterparts in Kuala Lumpur

Foreign Minister Wang Yi held bilateral talks with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son earlier today on the sideslines of the ASEAN meetings.
Reiterating opposition to trade bullying and tariff coercion, Wang stressed China advocates for true multilateralism and safeguarding international fairness.
Wang said he hopes new progress will be made to forge the implementation of China-Vietnam community with a shared future as this year marks 75 years of their diplomatic ties.
Wang further noted China is willing to strengthen strategic coordination with Vietnam in East Asia.
For his part, Bui has vowed to continue to enhance trade, economic and investment cooperation.
Wang subsequently met his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Kuala Lumpur.
Lavrov stated that the two countries' strategic relations became more relevant amid complex and dynamic developments in the world.
