Pedestrian dies after being hit by police vehicle in Mong Kok

Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok in which a man died.
At 3:16 a.m., a private car belonging to the police force and being driven by a 46-year-old male police officer was travelling along Nathan Road towards Yau Ma Tei.
When approaching the junction of Nathan Road and Prince Edward Road West, the car knocked down a 60-year-old man who was crossing the road.
The man was trapped under the private car. He was later freed by firefighters. Sustaining multiple injuries, the unconscious man was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital and certified dead at 4:34 a.m.
Police investigation into the incident is under way.
