There are reports that a child of four years old has died of malnutrition in Gaza. It's the latest to go alongside other recent reports of deaths caused by starvation during Israel's blockade.
Some food is now getting in after international pressure was put on Israel to let in aid trucks, but Gazan officials say old and sick people are still vulnerable as warnings remain in place for a "full blown famine" in Gaza.
Empty pots in the hope of filling empty bellies. The children try not to look impatient. They have been waiting for aid trucks to be allowed into Gaza by Israel for more than 10 weeks.
They try to be near the front so they get to the food when it is dished out. Some of the smaller children use the saucepans as hats. To them, it's just a game.
Um Imad Afifi has been displaced from the north of Gaza and has seen enough.
She says: "Life is so difficult, we have become a people with pots running after charities."
The aid has been trickling in these last few days. Israel says it has let in around 300 trucks.
The U.N. says double that is needed and officials in Gaza say not even half of that number have so far reached their designated distribution points.
Security and looting is a problem. Not everyone here got what they came for. This child's container remains empty. Food has to be tightly rationed.
The World Food Programme says more than half a million children in Gaza face acute malnutrition if more food does not get in soon.
This man said: "All they need is food, they are not asking for much, just food," says charity worker Nihad Abu Koosh who says he too has to rely on handouts to survive and be able serve others.
Israeli troops continue to operate day and night in their renewed offensive, hitting Hamas targets from tanks or on foot. These are shots of the 401st combat brigade in action.
Meanwhile, the IDF is "reviewing" an attack that killed nine of Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar's 10 children in Khan Younis.
It is though just one high-profile incident that resulted in the deaths of children. Others have been reported across the strip in recent days.
As another day turned to night in the Gaza Strip, there was smoke hovering over the area following another explosion. Gazans dealing with the dual threats of violence and starvation.
