India fires missiles into Pakistani territory, killing at least 19

India attacked Pakistan and Pakistan-controlled territory in Kashmir early Wednesday, killing at least 19 people and injuring 38 others.
Pakistan called the attacks an act of war and said its forces had shot down five Indian fighter jets.
Several Asian airlines are re-routing or cancelling flights to and from Europe after the worst fighting in more than two decades between the two nuclear-armed countries.
India's Defence Ministry said the missile strikes targeted at least nine sites "where terrorist attacks against India have been planned."
Pakistan has closed all schools in Kashmir and Punjab Province after the airstrikes. Authorities in Indian-controlled Kashmir have also shut down schools in some border areas and Srinagar Airport.
