The hearing on Abby Choi's murder case continues at the High Court.
The prosecution's DNA expert witness testified the DNA found on the handle of the hammer involved in the case matches that of Alex Kwong.
The three defendants, including Abby Choi's ex-husband Alex Kwong, former father-in-law Kwong Kau and former brother-in-law Anthony Kwong, were escorted by a prison van to the High Court.
They pleaded not guilty to murder, but have previously admitted to the charge of preventing the lawful burial of a body.
Chief chemist at the Government Laboratory Wai Wing-kong continued to testify, explaining an individual's 26 DNA markers form a unique genetic barcode.
The prosecution pointed out the handle of the hammer involved in the case did not yield a full set of 26 DNA markers, with only nine markers belonging to Alex Kwong being detected.
Wai explained the amount of DNA was either too small or had began to degrade, but emphasised the test results matched Alex Kwong's DNA.
The probability of the same DNA combination appearing in the general population is approximately 1 in 6.2 billion.
He added although Anthony Kwong and Alex Kwong are brothers, half of their DNA profiles still differ, allowing the two to be distinguished.
