Tonight's Mark Six Lunar New Year Jackpot, called the Year of the Horse Snowball, could pay out as much as HK$200 million, the highest ever prize money if won by a single ticket.

Many citizens arrived at Hong Kong Jockey Club betting stations early this morning to try their luck.

Many people hope to make a fortune in the new year.

The Stanley Street betting station in Central has a record of at least 47 jackpot wins, and many people were rushing there hoping to try their luck.

The queue once stretched to Wellington Street next door.

The betting station on Kwai Lam Street in Sham Shui Po also had a long queue, with over a hundred people waiting.

Some people even brought windmills, hoping to turn their luck around and have good fortune.

The highest payout record for Mark Six to date was last year's Lunar New Year jackpot, when a winner won approximately HK$193 million with a single winning ticket.
