Fire in Tai Po has not been put out by midday

The fire in Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po has been burning for nearly a day, and at noon, flames were still visible in some residential units.
Zhou Ji, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong, visited the Tai Po Community Centre where some victims of the fire were staying this morning, and talked with the care team members.
Fire Services Department said early morning that of the seven buildings on fire, four are under control. Rescue efforts are proceeding from the bottom of the buildings up, and it is estimated that the firemen will reach the rooftops sometime between noon to dusk.
Since yesterday evening, injured people have been continuously rescued. As of 11:00 AM this morning, the government said that it had received 70 injured people, of whom 4 died, 8 were discharged from the hospital, and the remaining 58 were hospitalized, 15 are in critical condition.
At least 40 people died at the scene of fire. One firefighter died in the line of duty.
