Tai Po Fire: Li Ka Shing Foundation launches HKD30mn emergency fund

The Li Ka Shing Foundation has announced an immediate allocation of 30 million Hong Kong dollars to set up an emergency relief fund to support registered charities, particularly those serving the Tai Po district, in providing urgent assistance and recovery aid to families and individuals affected by the fire at Wang Fuk Court yesterday.

The Foundation will also allocate a further 50 million Hong Kong dollars for follow-up support for the community rebuild project.

The Foundation is calling on eligible charitable organisations to submit funding applications through the link on the Tsz Shan Monastery website (www.tszshan.org/lksfrelief). The webpage will go live at 1 p.m. today. Priority will be given to programmes that can quickly deliver direct assistance to individuals with urgent needs.
