Level 4 fire in Tai Po with many believed to be trapped

A level 4 fire is still burning at Tai Po, with many people believed to be trapped. 

The fire started at the Hong Cheung Block of Hong Fu Court, where the external scaffold was nearly completely ablaze. 

The fire was intense with large amounts of thick smoke rising into the air. 

The police received reports of the fire at 2.51p.m., and the flames spread to the adjacent building. Firefighters arrived at the scene and began dousing the flames. 

According to on-site reports, at least two people have suffered serious burns and there have been ongoing pleas for help from people trapped inside. 

The building has been occupied for more than 40 years, and the estate is undergoing external wall renovation and paper stone installation.
