US President Donald Trump says neither he nor SpaceX CEO Elon Musk ordered the restrictions on the Starshield satellite system that disrupted drone missions in Ukraine. The remarks come as Ukraine talks with the Pentagon and SpaceX regarding the Starshield speed cap.

Meanwhile, Trump waived key Russia-related sanctions and tariffs days before they were to take effect under a law he signed last month, including duties on the country's goods and penalties for buying its oil and gas.

Speaking to reporters as he was leaving the White House for a campaign stop Friday, US President Donald Trump insisted he didn't order restrictions on the satellite system used by Ukraine's military, while fielding questions about his current stance on the Russian-Ukraine war.

Mr. President, if it wasn't you, then who gave the order for Starshield to come down in Ukraine? If it wasn't you, who gave that order? US President Donald Trump said"Well, I don't know. I know that I think it's the same. I'm not sure that it ever came down, but I'm pretty sure it's the same. But I just checked it this morning. It wasn't us. I checked it morning. They say it's always the same as it always has been."

(Reporter) And you call Ukraine a disgrace for attacking Russia, you want Zelenskyy out. Have you forgotten that President Putin started the war? "Well, you know, I know the details, okay? And at some point, I'll release the details. But I don't care anything except for one, I want that war ended.

Twenty-five thousand soldiers on average a month are being killed. Last month, it was 32,000 soldiers. And I think the two leaders, I deal with both of them, I think they want that war ended, too. And I think it's going to end. That's all I care about. I want the war to end, okay."

At a press briefing in Belgium, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy paused and smiled when asked whether the US president was treating him as a scapegoat for his own political problems.

(Reporter) President Trump is facing pretty difficult midterm elections. His personal popularity is very low, diesel prices in the U.S. Are very high, and the war that he started in the Middle East is not going the way he wants it. Do you think you are being treated as a scapegoat for his own problems?

Zelenskyy smiles. "This is my answer."
