Yuen Long district council on dog attack: gov inspected 48 warehouses

On the fatal dog attack in Yuen Long on September 20, authorities have confirmed the victim's cause of death is highly likely dog bites around the neck which fatally injured the windpipe of the deceased.

A total of 26 dogs in the vicinity have been examined with relevant reports to be submitted to the Coroner's Court.

The woman was mauled by three dogs to death on Pok Wai South Road.

Authorities later captured eight unattended dogs in the area.

At the Yuen Long District Council meeting, when councillors asked if the three dogs in question have been located, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department says more probes are underway.

Authorities also inspected 48 warehouses near the scene and examined close to 20 canines there.

Investigation results will be submitted to the Coroner's Court to decide whether a hearing should be held.

Meanwhile, three of the eight dogs captured with microchips saw their chips expired.

The department says prosecution has been filed against one owner.
