Saudel continues to lash Zhejiang and Fujian

The remnants of Tropical Storm Saudel continue to affect parts of Fujian and Zhejiang.

In Putian, Fujian, heavy downpours have precipitated severe flooding, with one person reported missing.

Authorities are pumping out floodwater as water levels gradually recede.

Yesterday, several towns in Fuzhou were swamped, leaving multiple vehicles submerged.

Heavy rain also triggered a landslide along a national highway in Yongchun County, where around 2,400 cubic metres of rocks, soil and debris barrelled down the mountainside.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Krovanh is hovering around the Ryukyu Islands, prompting Zhejiang authorities to step up precautions.
