Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy vows to respond to what

he calls an atrocious attack by Russia targeting a shopping centre

in his hometown of Kryvyi Rih.

At least 16 people have been killed and 130 injured in the incident,

including 22 children.

The attack comes just days after two hits that killed 16 in the Ukraine

capital and injured another 40.

This as tension between the nations escalate with increasing attacks

on civilian targets.

First responders rushed to treat the wounded at a shopping centre in the central

Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih after a drone attack Friday.

This latest attack on a civilian target in the home town of

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy comes after ongoing

exchange of drone hits between the nation and Russia

in the long drawn out conflict.

Condemning the attack, Zelenskyy addresses the death and destruction

the four-year-old war has cause, calling on the international community to

take a stance on what he calls "cowardly attacks" by Russia.

"This is an absolute atrocity committed by the Russians. They're nothing but beasts,"

Zelenskyy says.

"It is important that the world does not remain silent about all of this.

This Russian war must come to an

end, and the world must help us achieve that," he furthers.

This comes on the heel of another string of attacks Friday on the Ukraine capital of Kyiv,

where 16 people died and another 40 were injured.

In those attacks, Russian drones targeted civilian homes and infrastructures, cutting

off electricity and gas supply.

The Russian Defense Ministry on Friday reported its forces continued to

strike ports and ships being used in support of the Ukrainian military,

while Ukraine said it had attacked a Russian oil refinery and an airbase.

Ukraine has been responding to Russia's drone attacks, including striking

warehouses of Russian online retailer Wildberries last week.
