Amid the recent rise in dog attacks, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department reminds dog owners to abide by the law when bringing their canine pets inside restaurants, stressing fighting dogs are banned from entry.

This after the measure permitting dogs to enter designated restaurants has been in effect for more than a month.

The FEHD notes on social media urging dog owners to avoid bringing fighting or dangerous dogs to dine at such sites.

Canines currently allowed to enter restaurants must be accompanied by an adult and be put on a leash longer than 1.5 metres.

Authorities emphasised legal actions will be taken against offenders.
