4 dies in sightseeing helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro

Four people were killed Saturday when a helicopter crashed in a forested area in Rio de Janeiro.

This marks the second helicopter crash event in less than two months in the city, with officials still working to determine the cause of the incident.

The city has called on the president of the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency, asking for immediate actions, recalling the frequency of helicopter crashes.

Local media reported that the three passengers were Colombian tourists that hired a "doors-off" flight, offering panoramic views of Rio's tourist spots.

The crash occurred near Vista Chinesa, one of the most famous viewpoints in Rio de Janeiro that offers a sweeping view of sights such as Christ the Redeemer, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, the beaches of Ipanema and Leblon, the Botanical Garden, and part of Guanabara Bay.
