Trump claims US killed Venezuelan gang leader

US President Donald Trump says that a "swift and lethal kinetic" strike killed Hector Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, whom he called the leader of Venezuela's Tren de Aragua gang.

Tren de Aragua has been labeled by the US as a terrorist organisation.

Better known by his alias Nino Guerrero, the gang leader was charged in a New York court with racketeering conspiracy and other crimes last year.

Guerrero's gang expanded in recent years as millions of Venezuelans migrated to other countries in search of better living conditions.

Trump and other US officials have consistently blamed Tren de Aragua as the root of the violence and drug dealing that plague some US cities.
