Ten senior citizens fall on an escalator in Sha Tin, some injured

Ten senior citizens fell on a descending escalator in King's Wing Plaza in Sha Tin this afternoon.

Some of them were injured and sent to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment.

Police were alerted to the incident at around 3 p.m.

Firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene.

The escalator was halted and scattered with miscellaneous items such as umbrellas and clothes.

Reportedly, the incident started when someone fell on the escalator and knocked down other people nearby.

An investigation is underway to find out exactly what happened.
