Observatory expects temperature to drop next week as winter starts

Tomorrow marks the start of winter in the city, with weather authorities expecting temperatures to noticeably drop next week.

The Observatory noted a northeast monsoon will make its way to the Guangdong coastline during the weekend, further expecting a cold front to hit much of the Southern Chinese coast at the start of Monday, during which temperatures will drop significantly.

The temperature could drop to a minimum of 20 degrees Celsius on that day.

This as the mercury is set to further drop to around 18 degrees in urban areas on Tuesday and Wednesday.
