Putin says Russia will accomplish its tasks in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said Thursday that the Starlink service is once again running at full-speed for Ukraine.

This as Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia will accomplish its tasks in Ukraine after he agreed in principle to resume peace negotiations.

Speaking to reporters as he departed the White House for a campaign rally in Iowa, Trump confirmed that the military version of the Starlink satellite service

offered by SpaceX is once again working at optimal speeds for Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump said "Whether I called or whether somebody else called doesn't make any difference. I guess the bottom line he put it back."

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that Russia "will accomplish our tasks" in Ukraine, adding "All the objectives of the Special Military Operation will be met."

This after he agreed "in principle" to resume peace negotiations.

Speaking on Russian TV Putin said, "It seems inappropriate to speak of any territorial losses." as the people of the occupied territories "voted for reunification with the Russian Federation."

Putin said that the purpose of the announced trilateral talks "will be to discuss how to ensure the security of both Ukraine and Russia following the conclusion of peace agreement."

With Russia and Ukraine signalling their willingness to resume US-backed peace talks seeking to end the war, Kyiv residents were mostly pessimistic about the latest developments

surrounding negotiations.

This Kyiv resident said, "I think any Ukrainian has hopes because they want the war to end, but if we are being realistic we understand perfectly that there have already been many opportunities

and they were all unrealised.

Meanwhile Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met his Finnish counterpart in Kyiv as their representatives signed seven agreements on opportunities for cooperation with a total value of around 300 million euros.

Ukraine will be represented at the highest level at the G20 summit in Florida in December if President Trump invites it, Zelenskyy said."Let's hope that this is possible."
