At least a dozen people were killed and more than 300 wounded when missiles hit Saudi Arabia's

King Khalid International Airport.

Saudi TV on Saturday reported that King Khalid International Airport was attacked.

"The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) stated that King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was attacked on Saturday afternoon amid the blatant attacks that target the civil aviation facilities in the Kingdom," a news presenter reported.

Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement calling on citizens who were affected by the delay of the flights and did not reach their destination to communicate with Saudi missions abroad.

The airport in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh, was attacked again Saturday and evacuated, two regional officials said, two days after three Saudi citizens, including a pilot, were killed as the kingdom faces an extraordinary series of assaults in the new front in the Iran war.

A missile struck a complex that houses terminals 3 and 4 for domestic flights and many people were wounded, one of the officials said.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to speak to the media. Ambulances were seen rushing toward the airport.

Flights to Riyadh diverted elsewhere, the Flightradar24 tracker showed, almost four hours after the last flight landed at 2:05 p.m.

Kuwait Airways said it was canceling flights because the airport had closed. Countries including the United States, Britain, Germany and Canada warned its citizens to avoid the airport.

King Khalid International Airport has been targeted multiple times in the week since a Saudi-led coalition launched a major military offensive against Iran-backed Houthi rebels in neighboring Yemen.

The Houthis claimed responsibility for the earlier attacks, including one Wednesday that killed a Sudanese national.
