A low-pressure area located in the northern part of the South China Sea are bringing showers and thunderstorms.

The Observatory forecasts that tomorrow, the day the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) results are released, some areas will experience heavier rainfall.

As dense clouds covered both sides of Victoria Harbour, the Observatory said that the low-pressure area located in the northern part of the South China Sea

skirted about 50 kilometers south of Hong Kong, but its structure was loose, with weak winds and convection, and it did not reach the intensity of a tropical cyclone.

The Observatory said the wind in Hong Kong will gradually strengthen later today. It will consider whether to issue a Strong Monsoon Signal depending on local wind changes.

Affected by an active southwest airflow, the weather will remain unstable in the coming days.
