Chief Executive in Council approved uniform 2% pay rise for civil servants

The Chief Executive in Council decided to implement a uniform 2% pay rise for civil servants this fiscal year.

The Civil Service Bureau said in making this decision, the Chief Executive in Council fully considered the staff's response to the pay adjustment proposal, as well as all relevant factors under the established civil servant pay adjustment mechanism, including Hong Kong's economic situation, changes in the cost of living, the government's financial situation, net pay trend indicators, staff's demands for pay adjustments, and civil servant morale.

The government will submit the proposed civil servant pay adjustment for this year to the Legislative Council's Finance Committee for consideration as soon as possible. If approved, it will take effect retroactively to April 1.
