Hong Kong's economic growth in 2025 was forecasted at 3.2%. Executive Councilor Jeffrey Lam said that civil servants have done a great deal of work, and with the economy improving, a pay rise for them should be considered.
He believed Hong Kong's economy is stablising and there is a possibility that a surplus can be achieved.
He said that if things continue to improve, Hong Kong's economy should head in a positive direction. Given the fact that civil servants have contributed much, both they and the business and professional sectors should receive some encouragement.
