King Felipe of Spain visits China

King Felipe VI of Spain expressed his country's commitment to deepening ties with China.

He spoke at the China-Spain Business Summit in Chengdu, where he began his state visit at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.

He emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the face of a

complex international landscape.

He also hoped that more Chinese companies would choose Spain as an investment destination.

This is the king's first trip to China since ascending to the throne in 2014, and also the first visit by a Spanish king in 18 years.
