Americans have engaged briskly in early voting for Tuesday's midterm election from October 24 with more than 52 million already casting their ballots so far.

US President Donald Trump reshuffled his schedule to add two final rallies in Kansas and Iowa on the same day to drive turnout in the competitive Senate races.

Republicans are fending off the threat of Democratic pastor Adam Hamilton who is challenging incumbent Sen. Roger Marshall in Kansas.

Media reported hundreds of people left midway through US President Donald Trump's 90-minute speech during his final rally of the midterms in central rural Salina Sunday night.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also took the stage to heap praises on the president who he said "works every single day" to keep America safe. "And because he's our president, America is stronger, you're safer, and our enemies are weaker all around the world."

Meanwhile in Michigan, Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens has formally endorsed the state's GOP nominee, Mike Rogers, over Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, crossing party lines in the walkup to Election Day.

The feud between the two Democrats boiled over their different stances over US support to Israel.

The congresswoman joined Rogers during an event a day after she was told to refrain from joining El-Sayed, a former public health official who narrowly defeated her in the August primary race.

El-Sayed dismissed Stevens' endorsement, telling the press he's focused on the high cost of living and other issues of the voters' concern.

Trump took time to respond to the news at a rally in Dubuque, Iowa. He said Stevens was "very brave" in doing it and welcomed her to join the Republican Party.

Trump called on the crowd to elect "America first" Republicans up and down the line and continued his attacks on the Muslim candidate. "I call him Mohammed, not Abdul."

He said, "That's another important election for us. We don't want to have a jihadist, we don't want to have a, can you imagine, we'll have to put him through metal detectors in order to seat."

El-Sayed fired back at Trump's misuse of his name at a union hall outside Detroit.

He said, "Donald Trump and JD Vance, for their part, can't seem to keep my name out their mouth. I don't know that Donald Trump even understands what my name actually is. But it's okay. We're going to make it easy on him. Because in three days, we're going to make him call me 'senator'."
