A foreign domestic helper is arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of her 93 year-old employer in Kai Tak's Tak Long Estate.
The victim resided in a 150-square foot apartment at Tak Long Estate's Tak Yiu House.
She suffered from several chronic health problems, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar.
The woman also required long-term medication and hospital check-ups after suffering from a stroke two years ago, and has been cared for by a 52-year-old foreign domestic helper for the past three years.
This as the police said the maid contacted the residential building's security at 8 a.m. on Sunday, saying her employer fell unconscious.
The latter was subsequently sent to hospital where she was confirmed dead.
The police noted the deceased had several bruises and scratch marks on her body, but emphasised there were no clear signs of an injury that caused her death.
CCTV footage later revealed the maid had repeatedly attacked the 93-year-old within a span of seven minutes.
Authorities later arrested the maid on suspicion of murder.
The police said the foreign domestic helper physically assaulted the victim's neck, head and face on at least 20 occasions, before moving the latter's body with her feet and stepping on her stomach.
The investigation further indicated the relationship between the deceased and the maid turned hostile after a long period of care work-related tension.
Authorities added the maid had assaulted the victim in the past, having attacked her on a daily basis over the past half a month.
