Transport arrangements at the Shenzhen port area of the redeveloped Huanggang Port Building have entered its final stretch of preparations.

Travellers can walk directly from the checkpoint to the metro station -- connected by five bus routes.

Workers have been putting finishing touches in place at the port, including decorations for next month's Shenzhen APEC meeting.

Travellers can go directly from the port building to Shenzhen Metro Line 7.

It takes about 15 minutes to reach several popular spots frequented by Hong Kong residents, including Huaqiangbei -- the world's largest electronics market in Futian District, and the large shopping mall COCO Park.

Five existing bus routes will have their terminuses relocated to the new Huanggang Port.

Among them, route 23, which currently departs from the Futian Port bus station, runs approximately every 10 minutes.

However, unlike Lo Wu or Liantang, the new Huanggang Port lacks grocery shopping options in the vicinity of the checkpoint.

Some scholars believe that when the new building first opens, foot traffic may initially be driven by mainland visitors as many travel agencies are currently promoting the site.
