Hong Kong and Shenzhen have issued a joint announcement stating that the new Huanggang Port Building will officially open next Monday at 6:30 AM.
The reconstructed Huanggang Port, a project taking about seven years, is officially ready to receive travelers.
The Security Bureau of Hong Kong and the Port Office of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government issued a joint announcement stating that the new Joint Inspection Building at Huanggang Port has passed inspection and acceptance.
Hong Kong and Shenzhen authorities have completed a series of system tests, trial runs, and emergency response drills,
confirming that Huanggang Port meets all conditions for opening.
Following consultations between the governments of Guangdong and Hong Kong, Huanggang Port is scheduled to officially open for operation on Monday, October 12, at 6:30 AM, providing 24-hour clearance services for passengers and passenger vehicles. Concurrently, passenger clearance services at the temporary passenger inspection building at Shenzhen's Huanggang Port and the Lok Ma Chau Control Point will be suspended.
The Hong Kong Port Area of the new Huanggang Port and its extended areas will fall under Hong Kong jurisdiction and apply Hong Kong laws.
It will adopt the "Joint Inspection and One-stop Clearance" mode, requiring travelers to present their travel documents only once to complete border clearance procedures for both sides.
Clearance time will be reduced to 5 minutes. Passengers can also opt for automated e-channels and facial recognition clearance, though prior registration is required.
