Thailand floods kill 10 nationwide

At least eight people have been killed across Thailand over the past ten days as heavy rain batter the country.

While the rain has eased in the capital, thousands are forced to move into temporary shelters as flooding persists.

Days of continuous downpours have caused severe disruptions in Bangkok, impacting traffic and businesses, with accumulated rainfall exceeding 30 centimetres in many areas.

Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt says they city is working to drain water as quickly as possible but cautions water levels in main canals remain high, with some still rising as water continued to flow in from nearby areas.

More than 545,000 people in 25 other provinces have been impacted by flooding as of Sunday, especially in the central and eastern regions, according to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
