Instead of adding new roses, US President Donald Trump's White House
Rose Garden is growing statues.
This in a continuous attempt by Trump to leave lasting mark on Washington, DC,
following renovations of the White House Ballroom and trying and renaming of
the Kennedy Centre.
The latest addition, a bronze depiction of a seated Thomas Jefferson signing the
Declaration of Independence, joins statues already displayed there of George Washington,
Alexander Hamilton and Benjamin Franklin.
A fifth sculpture named "Freedom's Charge", 4.3-metre-tall bronze sculpture
of two Revolutionary War soldiers separated by a flag,
was relocated from Dallas and is also on the patio.
