The Hong Kong Port Area of the new Huanggang Port building has
conducted a third large-scale drill, mobilising civil servants to participate.
The third drill is escalated further in scale compared to the previous two,
marking the first mobilisation of over 10,000 civil servants for a
stress test, and the first test of the
"collaborative inspection and joint clearance" mode.
The Immigration Department has earlier dispatched staff to test the gates
and simulate procedures for handling unexpected situations.
About 1,000 private cars are also recruited today to test vehicle
clearance, though the "five-in-one" lane will not be used for now.
The Security Bureau earlier stated that it will ensure all testing for the new
port building are completed and discuss the opening date with Shenzhen side
as soon as possible.
