Typhoon Noul causes major destruction throughout Guangdong Province

As Typhoon Noul continues on its path towards Northern China, it left behind a trail of destruction in Guangdong Province, with neighbouring areas such as Jiangxi and Hunan Provinces still experiencing severe rainstorms.

Huizhou city saw some of the worst flooding in Guangdong Province with a local driver seen trapped in his vehicle before his family alerted the police to rescue him.

While weather conditions have gradually improved in the region upon Noul's departure, neighbouring towns continue to be battered by intense rainstorms.

In Meizhou city, some local residents were trapped in their villages with the water level reaching 1.5 metres in height.

As Noul passes by the provinces of Jiangxi, Hunan and Fujian, some areas in the former recorded rainfall of over 200 millimetres.

Local meteorological authorities reminds residents to maintain awareness of landslide and flash flood-prone locations.
